GAMDAN Optics Opens Second San Jose Facility to Expand Crystal Growth and Fabrication Capacity

Added capacity across both crystal growth and in-house fabrication shortens lead times and supports higher-volume production for high-power laser customers

SAN JOSE, California. — August 1, 2026 — GAMDAN Optics Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of nonlinear and laser crystals for high-power laser systems, today announced the opening of a second facility in San Jose, California. The expansion increases capacity across both crystal growth and fabrication, enabling the company to serve its customers with shorter lead times and greater production scale.

The additional space expands GAMDAN's crystal growth operations for its core materials, including lithium triborate (LBO), beta barium borate (BBO), and potassium gadolinium tungstate (KGW). With more growth capacity online, GAMDAN can keep pace with rising demand from defense, fusion energy, quantum computing, and industrial laser customers while maintaining full control over material quality.

Just as importantly, the new facility expands GAMDAN's in-house fabrication capacity, the precision finishing operations that turn grown crystal boules into finished optical components. This includes crystallographic orientation, cutting and dicing, lapping and polishing to demanding surface specifications, edge work, and anti-reflection coating, along with the metrology and inspection that verify each part. Expanding these operations lets GAMDAN finish more components in-house, hold tighter tolerances, and scale up the production volumes that OEM programs require without relying on outside vendors.

Together, the added growth and fabrication capacity strengthen GAMDAN's ability to deliver quality crystals reliably and on schedule, from prototype quantities through ongoing OEM production.

Expanding both our crystal growth and our fabrication capacity in this second facility is about one thing: serving our customers better. It gives us the room to grow more material and finish more components in-house, which means shorter lead times and more reliable delivery for the laser systems our customers are building.
